| "A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows, is God in His holy habitation. God makes a home for the lonely; He leads out the prisoners into prosperity, only the rebellious dwell in a parched land." Psalm 68:5-6 | | |
| It was quite an adventure that I took when I moved away from home for 6 months starting over a year and a half ago now. I lived in England and Albania and visited/passed through New Jersey, Wales, and Greece in that time. God has blessed me! I'm also grateful to all the supporters He blessed me through! I've been home since then for over a year. Now, I'm working, gardening, being with my family...good stuff. I'm ready, now, to ask God for the next adventure...even if it's here at home---maybe especially here at home. My dreams are in the bed and breakfast arena, as many know. My dreams include adoption, as many know. My dreams include marriage, as many know. My dreams are there. I will now seek the Lord about His dreams and plans for me. I know that they are good. I also hope that my dreams have come from Him. I'm also aware that He may have better dreams for me which I have not thought of. I trust Him. I am abandoned to You, Jesus! | | |
| The Maiden's Bequest is a book I just finished reading recently. Annie Anderson has qualities that we could all learn from, ladies...and this is a book for both guys and girls to read. It is by George MacDonald, and it used to be called "Alec Forbes". It is a unique book, following both Alec's life and Annie's as well as giving you a good look at different personalities of all the characters, getting to know them as well. It is hard to handle sometimes, but very satisfying in the end. Happy reading! | | |
| Yesterday, I was at work and I heard the lady on the television praise Hillary Clinton for trying to be the President. This women said, basically, that Hillary was an inspiration to other women/girls to know that it's possible that they could be President someday. What??? "BOO!" I said, directing my opinion towards TV room where my customers sat. I continued with something like, "Little girls want to grow up to be wives and mommies! Don't they know how feminist have ruined things for my generation?! Has anyone said that yet?" "No," my customer answered understanding me and sympathizing. So, I want to know: Who wants to do things God's way? Any girls out there want to be a good wife and have a good marriage? The Bible will give us instruction as to how... plus the Truth that God put in our hearts. It's the Truth that we long to care for our families, be an emotional support to a husband, be a mom, be a good friend. We need to be women! Let's not try to be men. And the men will enjoy us much better this way, plus we won't give them an identity crisis. Let them do their job and we will do ours. It fits. It's good. It's fun. I can hardly wait! But Feminists caused us to shoot ourselves in the foot. Now many expect women to leave their children daily so that they can work, and many think that two parents have to work to pay the bills (probably because they got used to it---it's not worth that extra money (whether great or small) to abandon the children everyday, letting someone else raise them). Besides, I'm sure that all this unnecessary pressure and guilt for leaving the children each day is unhealthy. And does the wife have any energy or cheerfulness to give to her husband at the end of the day? I'm sure this lifestyle isn't healthy for marriages either. So, no-thank-you, lady on the TV. Little girls want to grow up to be wives and mommies, most often---not to be Presidents. | | |
| I appologize to all of you who expected me to journal my adventures here, as I had had in mind to do. Instead, I ended up simply emailing most things to folks. It's hard to get people on a site like this---more of my friends were reading their emails from me instead. So, I'm stateside now, and happy to be. I was over 3 months in England, then 7 or so weeks in Albania. I also had the privilage of setting foot in Greece a couple of times, as well as travelling through the Corith Canal (that's the Corith of the Bible!). When flying to Greece, I saw Alps from the airplane and took a picture or two. God has blessed me so much! I'm amazed! All praise to Him! | | |
